State Police watching your Super Bowl party

Delaware State Police do want you to enjoy yourself on Super Bowl Sunday.  They just don’t want you driving if you’ve had too much to drink.

State Police say they’ll be out in force state wide from 6pm to 2am Sunday into Monday.  There will be at least 15 patrols done in connection with local and state police through the state. Penalties for a first time DUI conviction include loss of license, possible jail time from 60 days to 6 months, $500 to $1,500 in fines and mandatory participation in an alcohol education and/or treatment program.

In 2009 there were 21 arrests made during the check point traffic stops.  So you can enjoy the game between to Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers just make sure there is a designated driver.
