State of education

Pa. Gov.-elect Tom Corbett has chosen his 400-member transition team. We’ll have more on that later. In the meantime, NewsWorks partner, the Public School Notebook, is focusing on the education side of things.

Corbett has announced his choices for his 34-person education committee, which include some familiar faces in Philadelphia like State Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams.

Other municipal players include charter school operators Larry Jones and Michael Karp, attorney Carl Singley, disciplinary school operator David Shulick and former Pennsylvania secretary of education Charles Zogby.
