State College report similar to PSU kidnap claim

State College police say they’ve received an attempted abduction report from a woman that is similar to a report made by a female student on Penn State’s main campus last month.

State College police tell the Centre Daily Times the latest incident happened about 1 a.m. Saturday when a car pulled up to a woman and its passenger tried to speak with her. The man persisted even after the woman ignored him, at which point he got out of the car and grabbed her arm, before she broke free and ran home.

Penn State police Chief Tyrone Parham says there are no new leads in a similar incident on campus Jan. 25, also about 1 a.m.

That woman claimed she was forced into a car and later tried to sexually assault her before she also ran away.
