‘Startup Beach House’ canceled amid fear of ‘Jersey Shore’ effect

Have Snooki and her crew any idea what impact they’ve left on folks down the shore?

Twice, things were all set this summer for the filming of “Startup Beach House,” a show that would capture five teams trying to build a business as the cameras rolled inside a house at the Jersey Shore.
But MTV’s “Jersey Shore” has left an impression on property owners who worry about renting to a group of young people and a camera crew.

Our partners at Technically Philly report media comparisons to the infamous MTV show made owners think twice about “Startup Beach House,” leading in it creators to decide to just nix the project.

If you were hoping he show would make nerding it up at the beach more acceptable, you’re out of luck. Keep the laptops out of the beachbags.
