Stack proposes legislation for payment transparency

Pennsylvania’s state worker payouts will become more transparent in Sen. Mike Stack has anything to do with it. Stack yesterday introduced legislation requiring public Internet access to information on state workers’ full compensation.

The proposal is an amendment to House Bill 15, which would create a public access site for residents to track how tax dollars are being spent. The PennWATCH Act would include salary figures for commonwealth employees.

The Senate approved Stack’s amendment yesterday, which a release from his office said would expand the bill to include information on employees’ salaries, bonuses, commissions and other compensations received for services rendered.
