Stabbing in Delaware’s Rodney Square

As people were headed home for the day, Monday, Wilmington Police were called to Rodney Square for reports of a stabbing.

Police say the incident occurred on West 10th Street, following a verbal fight and eventual physical struggle between two women. According to police, one woman pulled out a knife and swung at the victim several times, slashing her left bicep and neck, as well as puncturing her left underarm. Treated at Christiana Hospital, the victim was listed in stable condition.

The suspect, however, fled the scene and police are looking for her. She’s described as a light-complexioned black female, with light brown shoulder-length hair, about 5’2″ or 5’4″, thin build, weighing about 130 to 140 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding this incident may contact Wilmington Police Detective Wilfredo at 302-576-3646. Tips can also be sent to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or online.
