Chelten Plaza battle heads to zoning board Wednesday

The Chelten Plaza battle makes its way to the Philadelphia Zoning Board of Adjustment Wednesday, as board members will move closer to deciding the future of the former grocery store site.

Amy Z. Quinn of NewsWorks reports developers want to turn the former site of a Fresh Grocer into a Save-A-Lot and Dollar Tree.  Opponents of the plan, however, say they deserve better quality stores, which many believe would help revitalize the neighborhood.

The debate has been ongoing, filled with complex issues.

According to the report, opponents of the plan say they’ll be at the zoning board meeting.
