South Jersey woman pleads not guilty in missing husband’s death

    A South Jersey woman accused of killing her husband seven years ago and taking his remains with her when she moved to various homes has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.The Press of Atlantic City reports 62-year-old Loretta Doyle Burroughs entered her plea Tuesday during a court hearing. She remains jailed on $2 million bail.

    Burroughs was arrested in May 2013 at her new home in Lower Township home. She’s also charged with hindering apprehension.

    Authorities have said remains found in a closet at the Ventnor home Burroughs’ was moving out of were identified as belonging to her husband, Daniel Burroughs. She had told family and friends that he left her for another woman shortly before the couple was due to move to Florida in August 2007.
