Residents near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst may hear “booms” and feel “rumbles” this weekend.

“For those about to ROCK, we ‪salute‬ you!” a Joint Base release states.

Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 182nd Infantry Regiment from the Massachusetts Army National Guard are conducting live mortar training at the base’s ranges through Sunday, according to the release.

“This will cause moderate noise and light ground shaking. Please note, the noise may be louder and travel further during cloudy or overcast weather,” the release states. “The Joint Base GREATLY appreciates your patience and cooperation as we ensure the readiness of our nation’s fighting force.”
