Social dancing with Christine O’Donnell

The ABC show “Dancing with the Stars” is one of the highest rated shows on broadcast TV.  There is always a mix of show biz, sports, and poltical figures in the cast.  Last season Bristol Palin turned a lot of heads when she made it all the way to finals.  This season there could be an equally big buzz if former Delaware Senatorial candidate Christine O’Donnell decides she’s in.

For now the O’Donnell team says she is thinking about it.  She’s asking people to send her feedback via her Facebook page whether they think it’s a good idea to do it.  Her Twitter account (@ChrstineOD) says she is thinking about it, but she doesn’t want it to get in the way of writing her book.  The book, which she says will deal with issues surrounding her 2010 run for the U.S. Senate in Delaware is due out in late summer.   A spokesperson for the campaign said, ” she is humbled to be asked by DWTS.”  However,  her spokesperson did go on to say she has a lot on her plate and “is weighing all options carefully”.

For those who follow such things, Al Sharpton has already turned down his chance to dance, according to TMZ.com.  The new season lineup will be announced February 28th.  The 12th season of “Dancing with the Stars” begins March 21st.
