Snowstorm could make for uncertain service on New Jersey transit lines Monday
Slick rail conditions and downed overhead wires are just a couple of the issues causing delays and line suspensions for New Jersey Transit officials.
According to the NJ Transit website, the Morris & Essex and Montclair Boonton lines were suspended Sunday due to downed trees and overhead wires.
Because of Saturday’s storm, NJ Transit says system wide cross-honoring is in effect for the Northeast corridor line.
The Star-Ledger reports it’s too soon for transit officials to tell how Saturday’s storm will impact service for the Monday morning commute.
A NJ Transit official told The Star-Ledger that rail crews are checking the entire system to see what repairs need to be made.
