Sign controls, other zoning code legislation, introduced at city council

A bill containing the sign controls portion of Philadelphia’s new zoning code was introduced at City Council today.

Introduced by Fourth-district Councilman Curtis Jones on behalf of Council President Darrell Clarke, the bill was referred to committee.

PlanPhilly is told the sign controls bill is not significantly different from the previously released version, which was reported on here.

Jones also introduced another zoning bill for Clarke, containing “clean up” amendments to the new code. The second bill squares the code with itself, doing things like adding references to one section of the code in another and eliminating references to provisions that were removed.

PlanPhilly will post the bills when copies are available.
