Former judge remembered

Former Family Court Chief Judge William Charles Gordon will be remembered during a service today at the New Castle County Courthouse.

Gordon was appointed as the first chief judge of the state’s new Family Court in 1971.  He’s credited with integrating the old county court system into the then-brand new statewide Family Court system.  During his career, he’s also credited with implementing Jamaica’s justice system.  He retired in 1975.  Judge Gordon died last month at the age of 87.  Today’s memorial service will be held in courtroom 3A at 2:30 PM at the New Castle County Family Courthouse, 500 N. King St., in downtown Wilmington.
