Opera in Cinema: Nabucco (Verdi)

The libretto of Nabucco, written by Temistocle Solera, is based on a Bible story about the conquest of the Jews by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar, whose Italian name was Nabucodonosor, a.k.a. Nabucco.  Performed on August 9th at the Teatro Antico, Taormina, Italy from the Paris Ballet.  Shown with one intermission.  Sung in Italian with English subtitles. Theatre N at Nemours, September 5th, 2:30 p.m.

15th Annual Faculty Exhibition

The Delaware College of Art and Design will open its 15th Annual Faculty Exhibition. Artwork by members of DCAD’s studio faculty will be featured. In this annual show a variety of media will be featured, providing an opportunity for the area community as well DCAD students to see the work of the instructors.  Delaware College of Art and Design, September 9th, 5 p.m.

 

 

Biggs Kids: Foliage Friends

As the summer draws to a close the trees will slowly turn colors and drop their leaves. We will create a whimsical menagerie of some of our favorite animals using leaves of various shapes, sizes and colors. Please bring five leaves for each participant. Biggs Museum of American Art, September 3rd, 2 p.m.

Our ensemble cast of impeccable talent sings and dances their way through the Broadway repertoire.
