Sen. Carper visits with Millsboro firefighters

Senator Tom Carper (D) will help the Millsboro Fire Company celebrate their receipt of a $132,516 grant from FEMA.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the fire company the money to purchase “turnout gear,” which is the protective outer layer of firefighter clothing.  Since 2001, FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighter’s Grant program has helped firefighters nationwide get equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles and training.
