Self-imposed Facebook challenge has Philadelphia man networking offline

Facebook tells us a lot of things. David Kim is listening. The performance artist has taken on the task of giving in to Facebook’s suggestions.

Through April, Kim will do everything the social networking site tells him to, including going to events around Philadelphia.
WHYY’s Peter Crimmins talk with Kim, who calls the challenge a “social networking stress test.” When the month is over, he’ll analyze the data he’s collected and display it at the Esther Klein Gallery in University City and at the new Little Berlin artist collective space in Fishtown. But not before pursuing every event, friend and app Facebook suggests.

It’s like a virtual game of Simon Says, but with a lot more legwork.
