Second suit filed against former Our Lady of Calvary priest

A second man has filed a lawsuit against a former Our Lady of Calvary priest, claiming the priest sexual abused him. Lawyers for the man announced the suit yesterday, which also names cardinals Justin Rigali and Anthony Bevilacqua, Monsignor William Lynn and employees of the Archdiocese’s victim assistance office.

The man, known as John Doe, alleges Father John Gillespie abused him while Doe was a student at Calvary in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Gillespie is the same priest named as an abuser by former student Phillip Gaughan, whose alleged abuse took place in the mid-’90s.
