Second pit bull found burned in Northwest Philadelphia

According to a report from NewsWorks content partner NBC Philadelphia, a badly burned puppy was discovered Thursday in the West Oak Lane section of the city.

Officials with the Pennsylvania chapter of the SPCA said the approximately four-month-old male pit bull was discovered by a passerby with “extreme burns” on his legs and back as a result of being set on fire, according to the report.

The dog, nicknamed “Hercules,” was taken an animal clinic in New Jersey. He is expected to survive.

The incident comes a little more than a week after a female pit bull, “Chloe,” died of her injuries after she was set on fire in Germantown.
