Popular Ortley Beach club remains closed seven months after Superstorm Sandy

If you look at Joey Harrison’s Surf Club in Ortley Beach today it doesn’t look any different than it did the morning after Superstorm Sandy hit in 2012. That’s because the owner and his insurance company Executive Risk Specialty can’t agree on how much he should get. The club’s owners have filed a lawsuit against the insurance company in the dispute.

This past Saturday, the club’s owners staged a “Save the Surf Club” rally to let its patrons know that one day they hope to rebuild and reopen.
