Same story, different state: Prisoners in Fayette County, Pa., make state license plates

Prisoners in Pennsylvania are making license plates.

Sound familiar? It’s happening in New Jersey, too, as we read in a Star-Ledger feature story last week. Now the Patriot-News has its own feature story about how inmates in Fayette County, Pa., make the license plates for the Commonwealth.

Both offer an interesting look into the states’ respective processes, and if you didn’t get your fill of prison manufacturing stories from the Star-Ledger last week, then it’s worth checking out the Patriot-news’ take.
