Salem/Hope Creek reactor site investigated for security failings

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission confirms New Jersey’s Salem and Hope Creek reactor site has been issued a security citation, but the reason why is unclear.

NRC officials tell the Wilmington News Journal it’s policy to not provide details of security findings, so we may never know what the security failing was.

Site operator PSEG was made aware of the citation last month, with notice from the NRC that the findings could change as recent inspection results are reviewed.
