Police in Kennett Square issued 82 traffic citations last month. On top of 42 written warnings, 25 criminal arrests, 3 DUIs and 44 regular traffic citations. It’s all part of the new Operation Safe Streets program.
The Chester County borough launched the program a couple months back to reduce traffic and curb speeding, the Kennet Paper reports, and even with the police department down four full-time officers, citations are up and traffic is down. The program runs through December.
