Rutgers takes first steps in finding new president

Rutgers University has taken its first steps in finding a new president Wednesday with the appointment of a chairman and vice chairwoman of the search committee.

According to The Star-Ledger, Greg Brown the chief executive officer of Motorola Solutions, will serve as the chairman of the approximately 20-member group.

Linda Stamato, a longtime faculty member, will serve as the vice chairwoman, according to The Star-Ledger.

The group will search for a replacement for Rutgers President Richard McCormick, who last month announced his plans to step down at the end of the 2011-2012 school year.
