Rulings due Tuesday in duck boat crash and stop-and-frisk suit

Tuesday could bring an end (or at least a new chapter) to two big issues in Philadelphia over the last year.

Due tomorrow are an announcement from Mayor Michael Nutter about a stop-and-frisk settlement, and the final report from the National Transportation Safety Board on last summer’s Ride the Ducks crash.

The Inquirer reports Nutter and the American Civil Liberties Union will discuss the settlement the ACLU filed against the Philadelphia Police Department in November. Based on statistics, the ACLU alleged the department was using racial profile to conduct the random searches.

The NTSB will vote tomorrow to adopt the findings, probable cause and safety recommendations for the Ride the Ducks crash, as the Business Journal reports. The crash left two Hungarian teenage tourists dead.
