Police ID Roxborough student killed in Germantown

Police have identified the victim of this month’s shooting death in Germantown as 18-year-old Christopher Foster of Roxborough.

The Roxborough High School student’s body was found with a gunshot wound to the chest about 8 p.m. Jan. 19 on Woodlawn Street near Morris Street.

Homicide Detective Jeff Burke said police still don’t know who killed him, why he was killed or where the actual shooting occurred.

The Daily News reports that Foster’s mother said her son was with a childhood friend on the way to a local sandwich shop at the time of the shooting.

She said Foster’s friend told her they had just left the house when someone pulled up in a car with a shotgun, causing both boys to run in opposite directions.

Foster’s body was found minutes later in Germantown.

Roxborough High Principal Stephen Brandt says Foster’s death has been devastating to the entire school community.

“To lose such a vibrant individual who was full of life, in such an untimely manner, is difficult to comprehend,” Brandt said. “His respectful and caring demeanor will truly be missed.”

Foster reportedly loved music and was looking forward to playing the keyboard he got for Christmas.

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire Roxborough High School community will remain with the Foster Family,” Brandt said.
