Roxborough resident wants money for rec center improvements, not the streetscape

Where should governments spend their money when the economy could use a lift?

Roxborough resident Pat Haraburda is asking herself the same question now as her neighborhood undergoes a $2.2 million streetscape project while nearby Kendrick Rec Center misses out on funding.

Haraburda wrote an essay for NewsWorks explaining why she feels now is not the time for the streetscape plan for Ridge Avenue. Instead, she says she’s rather see the neighborhood center get some much-needed upgrades to better serve Roxborough.
