Rough surf cancels swim portion of Atlantic City triathlon
Rough surf in Atlantic City forced organizers of the Atlantic City International Triathlon to cancel the swim portion of today’s event.
The Press of Atlantic City reports the decision was made by the Atlantic City Beach Patrol.
The race, which started at 7 a.m., was supposed to include a one-mile swim. Competitors entered the water at one point, but other waves of competitors were stopped from going in after it became clear the waters were too rough.
