Right NEast/Wrong NEast: Yet another Frankford mixup

A classic mistake: something happens on Frankford Avenue, and in their haste to get a story out the big media outlets report on an incident in Frankford.

Except, of course, Frankford Avenue runs all the way from the Delaware River in Fishtown to the city line at Bucks County. And not all of that is in the Northeast.

Case in point: 3800-Frankford Avenue. This address was the scene of a car accident Saturday, and Action News reported the accident occurred in Frankford. Funny, because the intersection at Frankford and Sedgley avenues where the incident happened is well below the Frankford/Torresdale avenues border of Frankford.

Just another example of slapdash, lazy reporting.

Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast Philly wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
