Ridge Avenue resurfacing to begin

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday that Ridge Avenue between 33rd Street and Northwestern Avenue will be resurfaced beginning April 1.

The repairs will cause weeknight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Work will begin at Northwestern Avenue and move sourth towards 33rd Street. 

Beginning next week, work crews will begin adjusting utility manholes between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Two hundred and twenty six new accessible curb ramps will also be installed at 44 intersections. 

The project, paid for by state funds, will cost $4,265,519.
