Revel Casino head talks cost, opening date

Atlantic City’s Revel Casino is set to open May 15, 2012 to the tune of  $2.4 billion — up from the $1.3 billion estimated cost before Revel Entertainment ran out of money and temporarily halted the project.

The Associated Press has some numbers on the casino from CEO Kevin DeSanctis, which secured the additional $1.1 billion in February.

Revel will be Atlantic City’s 12th casino, and probably the last mega-project for quite a while.
The hotel will have 1,100 rooms.
The casino will employ about  5,500 people, and Revel’s website says the project will employ more than 10,000 people all told.
