Report: Two boats strike Manasquan Inlet jetty late Sunday

Two boats ran aground at the Manasquan Inlet jetty in Point Pleasant Beach just before midnight Sunday evening, a first responder said.

As a boat was being towed through the inlet, it broke loose and hit jetty, with the tow boat subsequently striking the rocks, Jerry Meaney of the Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad told Jersey Shore Hurricane News

All occupants managed to climb on the rocks uninjured, Meaney said

One of the boats was destroyed. The US Coast Guard is trying to remove the other boat from the rocks.
