Remembering Officer Joe Wargo: Mourners honor New Jersey cop killed in crash

Mount Arlington Police Officer Joe Wargo, who died last weekend, was described to the Star-Ledger as being a “Mack truck built around a heart of gold.”

The Star-Ledger reports 500 police officers were in attendance Friday at St. Mary’s Church in Alpha, Warren County.

According to investigators, a 29-year-old driver was under the influence of drugs when he lost control of his car and crashed into Wargo’s car on Route 80 early Sunday morning.
