Registration begins early at two popular West Philly schools

Mark your calendars to Aug. 13.

If you’re a parent that’s the day for new student registration at Penn Alexander and Henry C. Lea schools in West Philadelphia. If you’re everyone else, that’s the day to steer clear of both schools.
While most other Philadelphia public schools will hold registriation, West Philly Local reports Penn Alexander and Lea will be signing new kids up next week.

In January, parents lined up outside Penn Alexander in the snow to sign their kids up; the line’s been forming earlier and earlier each year as parents fear the well-performing school in the popular neighborhood will meet its enrollment capacity before their kids are registered.
