Reconstruction begins on Levoy Theater

Four months after the Levoy Theater collapsed in Millville, reconstruction is beginning. This is the second effort to refurbish the theater, which was under renovation when part of the building caved in.

The Press of Atlantic City reports the construction trailer will be installed today and the equipment will be mobilized. Work is expected to take three to four months, and if conditions permit, work to the rest of the structure that wasn’t part of the collapse, will begin as well.

Funding comes from a $1 million settlement with Colony Insurance of Richmond, Va. It’s still not clear what caused the collapse.
