Quarterly test planned for nuclear plant warning sirens

The Delaware Emergency Management Agency says there will be a test today of the 37 sirens that make up the Salem – Hope Creek Nuclear Generation Stations Alert and Notification System.

The sirens will be sounded for three to five minutes today between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., followed by a test message of the Emergency Alert System.  The sirens are all located within a ten-mile radius of the plants in southern New Jersey.
