Public viewing, funeral for Delaware officer scheduled for Friday
A public viewing is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Wilmington for New Castle Police Sergeant Joseph Szczerba, who was killed in the line of duty last week.
NewsWorks.org’s Mark Eichmann reports the public viewing will be held at Chase Center on the Riverfront. The viewing will be followed by a mass at 1 p.m. that is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to several local organizations.
Officer Szczerba was stabbed to death early Friday morning while responding to a call in the Penn Acres community.
