PSEA endorses bill that would support Chester-Upland, other Pa. districts

The Pennsylvania State Education Association has endorsed a bill from Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-York, that would funnel $30 million to distressed school districts in the state.

In our area, Chester-Upland and Norristown districts would receive part of the funding.
The Patriot-News reports the Priority Assistance Grant for Education would help districts with money from portion of the proposed tax on natural gas drillers. Sen. Judy Schwank, D-Berks County, will introduce the PAGE bill at the Senate level.

Not on the list of distressed districts that would receive funding? The School District of Philadelphia.
