Profiling The Porch

Streetfilms paid a visit to The Porch at 30th Street Station last month, and caught up with Prema Katari Gupta and Seth Budick from the University City District to talk about the new plaza and UCD’s “lighter, quicker, cheaper” approach to design. Since The Porch opened in November, the new plaza has featured movable tables and chairs, umbrellas, and plenty of programming (eg. yoga classes, live music, art installations, a farmer’s market and food trucks). This summer The Porch feels livelier – thanks in no small part to increased seasonal programming, warm weather, and the temporary additions of a 9-hole miniature golf course and 3-day beer garden in July. Check out the video for a preview on the Porch and be sure to stop by and let us know what you think.
