Probation and Parole staff collect winter coats

Thanks to the efforts of Delaware Probation and Parole staff, more than 100 winter coats have been collected for local shelters and charities.

Operation ZiPP Up was coordinated by Senior Probation Officer Dennis Desilet.  The drive also resulted in donations of hats, gloves, scarves and boots and was conducted at probation offices in Georgetown, Dover and Wilmington.  The effort was praised by Commissioner of Correction Carl Danberg, who said “Department employees have always been very supportive and charitable.  This winter clothing drive is yet another example of how the DOC family reaches out to take care of people in the communities where they work and live.”  Desilet said “these items will have an immediate impact in our communities and will help those in need be better prepared for the cold weather ahead.”
