Prayer-death couple now taking children to the doctor

More than two years after their toddler son died of bacterial pneumonia, Herbert and Catherine Schaible have sought medical care for their other children.

During a hearing Friday, the couple proved themselves compliant with their probation terms when paperwork showed their remaining seven children have all received medical checkups, as Philly.com reports.

The couple received 10 years’ probation for their son’s death, when a court ruled the two had put their religious beliefs ahead of their son’s well-being when they prayed for his recovery instead of seeking medical attention. They were also ordered to seek medical care for their other children.
