Pottstown contract settlements with labor unions may soon be resolved

Pottstown borough officials appear to be taking steps towards resolving contract settlements with the borough’s labor unions, after making progress during a Monday evening borough council meeting.

According to The Mercury, borough council voted 6-1 to accept a new two-year contract with borough workers who are represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union.

According to the report, Borough Manager Jason Bobst says the decision with the police union could be heard in borough hall as early as Tuesday morning.

The report states contract negotiations have been going on for nearly one year.
