An investigation is underway after the discovery of a possible human skull in Brick.
Brick Township Police Department spokesman Sgt. Neal Pedersen said the finding, which “appears to be a human skull,” was discovered in a wooded area in the Lake Riviera section of the township.
Local, county, and state authorities are investigating and canvassing the area of Old Toms River Road and Arizona Drive, Pedersen said.
A passerby spotted the skull on March 18 and contacted police, APP.com reported. The investigation has been ongoing but expanded this morning, the report said.
Old Toms River Road and Arizona Drive are closed between Beaverson Boulevard and Emerald Drive while the investigation continues.
