Morey’s Piers’ Ocean Oasis Waterpark in Wildwood will look a tad different during the evening of Labor Day.

What better way to end the dog days of summer than on a literal note?

For the first time, the waterpark will open its gates to pooches, who will enjoy doggy paddling the Endless River and relaxing in the Puddle Pool, all while being treated to snacks and fresh water when they need a break from splashing around, according to a release from Morey’s Piers.

“For many people, pets are members of the family,” said Jack Morey, second-generation partner of Morey’s Piers. “So before we close the waterpark for the season, we thought it would be fun to invite the furriest members of the family to come in and splash around.”

The “Morey’s Piers Gone to the Dogs” event, slated from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on September 2, will feature a variety of other “tail-wagging activities”, the release states, including something quite humerous.

As a warm-up for the Miss America Pageant in nearby Atlantic City a few weeks later, there will be a doggie swimsuit competition beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Soggy Dollar Beach Bar will transform itself into the Soggy “Collar” Beach Bar, offering a special menu for two-legged and four-legged guests alike, who will also enjoy ocean views and live entertainment.
