Police seek trio who robbed East Germantown GameStop with a hammer [video]

Philadelphia Police investigators are seeking three men who allegedly robbed a GameStop location in East Germantown on Wednesday.

At 3:15 p.m., the suspects entered the store at 5301 Chew Ave. and pretended to shop for a few minutes, according to police. One then pulled out a hammer and smashed a display case, police said.

The trio, captured by the store’s video surveillance system, ran off with several items including iPads and iPods. The stolen goods are valued at $3,200, according to police.

Police describe all three suspects as thin black males, with goatees, in their late teens or early 20s.

One was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with horizontal white stripes, dark pants and black and white Converse-style sneakers at the time of the incident. Another was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored baseball hat and dark-colored pants.

The one with the hammer was wearing a light-gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black and white sneakers at the time.
