Police seek carjacking suspect with E. Germantown ties

The FBI/Philadelphia Police Department’s Violent Crimes Task Force is searching for a man, with a known East Germantown address, believed to be responsible for two armed carjackings last month.

Joshua Gutierrez, 22, who lived in the 500 block of E. Ashmead St., allegedly “threatened two men at gunpoint and stole their vehicles, wallets, and phones” along with several accomplices on June 7 and 8, according to a task-force press release.

Considered armed and dangerous, Gutierrez is described as a 5-foot 8-inch tall, 160-pound man with a left-forearm tattoo “featuring two clowns’ faces bracketed by the words ‘That’s Life.'”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at (215) 418-4000 or the PPD’s tipsline at (215) 686-TIPS, text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or send it in via the department’s website.
