Police request help in identifying body that washed ashore in Cape May County

    Police in North Wildwood are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a body that washed ashore along an ocean beach on Sunday.

    The body, described as a possibly Hispanic man with a medium to dark complexion, was found between 24th and 25th avenues at approximately 9 p.m., police said in a news release.

    Police further describe the man, found waring maroon Polo cotton shorts with a drawstring, as in his early 20s, between five-feet, six-inches five-feet, and 160 and 180 pounds. He has short black hair, a one-inch scar on his shoulder, and no tattoos. 

    There were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, police added.

    The North Wildwood Police Department is investigating along with the New Jersey State Police and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
