Burglar busts into East Germantown pharmacy through closet wall [Video]

Philadelphia Police have released surveillance footage of a crafty burglar who broke through a closet wall to enter an East Germantown pharmacy from which he stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The incident happened at 3:34 a.m. Friday at the E-Glam Pharmacy, located at 742 E. Chelten Ave.

A E-Glam pharmacy technician, who spoke to NewsWorks on the phone but did not want to be publicly identified, said the back of the closet wall where the thief broke in “sits near the street.”

The technician also said he couldn’t conceive of how the suspect was able to dig a hole into the wall.

He also noted that while the pharmacy has been robbed in the past, this was the first time a burglar entered through the closet wall. No drugs were taken from the pharmacy.

The suspect, who exited the building through the same wall, is described as a man with bald or tightly cropped hair and a clean-shaven face. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans at the time.

Police ask anyone with information about this crime or suspect to contact the Northwest Detective Division at (215) 686-3353.
