Police release photograph of East Germantown bank-robbery suspect

According to Philadelphia Police, an unknown man went to the Beneficial Bank branch at 5301 Chew Ave. just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, presented a “threatening demanding note to the teller” and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30 with a medium build and light beard.

The robber was wearing black framed glasses, black baseball cap, black shirt and a tan hoody at the time of the incident, police reported (PDF).

Anybody with information is asked to call 911, the tips line at (215) 686-8477, the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at (215) 418-4000 or to submit information via the police website.

“There may be a reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of this suspect,” the police press release about the robbery stated.
