Police reel in two cars out of Schuylkill

A car was found sunk in the water near the Columbia Bridge grandstand on Saturday. It took five tow trucks the greater part of the afternoon to haul out a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle was encrusted with ice, leading witnesses to speculate that it had been in the water for several days, Philly.com said.

Divers searched the river looking for the vehicle’s driver, but found nothing. That investigation continues.

Another vehicle was found nearby on Wednesday. Investigators also came up empty in locating the driver of that car.
