Police: Razor blade in candy bar reported in Pa.

Police in suburban Philadelphia say a 13-year-old trick-or-treater reported finding a large razor blade in a candy bar on the day after Halloween.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the Montgomery County child didn’t bite into the candy Saturday morning and wasn’t injured.

Sgt. John Cutrone of the Towamencin Township police department said the candy had been sealed but the blade was loose inside the wrapper rather than in the candy itself.

Cutrone said it was unclear whether the candy bar had been opened and then resealed. He declined to name the candy, saying that might prompt people to ignore potential problems with other brands.
